Books like Miss Buncle’s Book

I recently read Miss Buncle's Book by D. E. Stevenson, about a woman who writes a book under a pen name because she needs the money, and sends her village into a tizzy. I'm craving similar books: preferably about a heroine who writes a book secretly, or writes a book with unexpected results. I have already read Angel by Elizabeth Taylor but I'm looking for books that are more cheerful than that.
If you have recommendations for books about villages going into a tizzy those are welcome too, of course.
