I've been searching for a particular edition of a couple of books I'm missing, so they match the rest of the series. The State of the Art by Iain M Banks being one of them. Second hand book sellers just seem to use whatever art and ISBN they feel like when selling, so I've ended up with a couple of different copies.
Interestingly two of the books have totally different covers but have the same ISBN number!
What method do people use when searching for a particular book edition (since I can't rely on ISBN).

Look for pictures of the actual book on sites like Abebooks or Ebay. Make sure they aren’t just using stock images.
