I’m in the final stretch of a low fantasy middle grade novel and trying to handle the aftermath of a big victory. Wrapping things up (celebration, reunions, grief, funerals, goodbyes) without dragging it out or leaning too heavily on dialogue. Basically, where the narrator does a summary of what happened.
Looking for fantasy books that do this well, where the post-battle resolution is concise but still emotionally complete. Any recommendations? Can be adult, middle grade or even children literature.
