I have barely read The Hunger Games, couple of Harry Potter, some John Green books, yes, I was 16 at the time. Basically I have never been a reader. I took a photo of the books he has read, I had Chat GPT come up with the genres. He's 36, New Yorker, I am 27, a transplant, not sure why I am mentioning that but in case it matters?

    TYSM in advance.

    Core genres/themes

    1. Literary fiction (especially contemporary & diverse voices)

Ocean Vuong, Celeste Ng, Tommy Orange, Robert Jones Jr., Edwidge Danticat 👉 This suggests a love for character-driven, emotional, and stylistically rich fiction, often centered on identity, culture, and relationships.

    1. Queer literature & LGBTQ+ themes

Deep House, Giovanni’s Room, This Book Is Gay, Angels in America, Danez Smith 👉 This is a major thread—both fiction and nonfiction—so clearly a primary interest, not incidental.

    1. Social justice / race / identity / equity

Between the World and Me, White Fragility, Race Matters, Teaching for Black Lives, Grading for Equity 👉 Strong focus on racial justice, education, and systemic inequality.

    1. Memoir & personal narrative

Crying in H Mart, Becoming, Born a Crime, Beautiful Country, The Meaning of Mariah Carey 👉 Indicates a preference for real-life stories, especially those tied to identity and culture.

    1. Psychology / trauma / self-understanding

The Body Keeps the Score, Quiet, Brené Brown 👉 Interest in emotional depth, vulnerability, and human behavior.

    1. Essays / reflective nonfiction

Ross Gay, Claude Steele, Kenji Yoshino 👉 Suggests enjoyment of thoughtful, idea-driven writing rather than purely plot-based reading.

    Overall reading personality

    This person likely gravitates toward:

    Emotionally deep, introspective books

    Identity-focused storytelling (race, sexuality, culture)

Socially conscious and politically aware writing

    Beautiful prose over fast-paced plot

Stories that feel meaningful or transformative

I know I shouldn't use AI, but it was like 50 books, I had no other choice to summarize what he likes/reads?
