Hi everyone! Title may sound funny, but hear me out.
For some context I am 28F and I used to read A LOT when I was a teenager, I used to be obsessed with fantasy, sci fi stories, historical fiction and so on. I used to love books like Maze Runner, Divergent, The hunger games, Throne of glass, The Lord of the Rings, A court of thorns and roses, The Martian, thrillers, Stephen King and so on. I used to finish a whole book in a couple days but now… I can't anymore. I WANT to read more, but I just do not feel that spark anymore, that sense of urgency to keep reading.
Part of the reason is that many fantasy/sci fi books are mostly targeting teen readers, the protagonist of the book may be 16 and saving the world. Now that I'm older I don't find those stories relatable or sometimes logical.
I would like recommendations of fantasy/dark fantasy, sci fi, historical fiction, thrillers etc. that made you feel that spark and urgency to read more and more!! A story that feels more mature, with romance, action, Kings, courts, intrigue and all the good stuff. Not necessarily NSFW haha just a more mature, logical story with strong characters and world design.
Right now I am reading "Red rising" so far, it seems like I will actually truly like this one. Started "The Cruel prince" and I'm not sure about it.
Help me get out of this "reader's block", I miss reading like a maniac…
Thanks and I'm looking forward to your suggestions!!
