Hi! I'm kinda depressed and I like consuming media about depressed/suicidal characters as a form of coping, but for some reason I can only really relate to it if its a male character thats depressed/suicidal? Idk its hard to explain, but anyways I really like The Catcher In The Rye and No Longer Human, so something along those lines would be great, thanks!

Stormlight Archive has a main character working through depression over the course of the series, and while the psychology (of this and other characters with other problems) interacts with the magic, the psychology is reasonably believable as well.
Not exactly a short read, but one of my favorites.
It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
I get what you mean, some books just hit differently depending on the perspective. You might want to try Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami, it has that same introspective, melancholic tone without being too overwhelming. A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara is another one people often mention, but just a heads up it can be quite heavy.
Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
Maybe Sommelier of Deformity by Nick Yetto.
The classic texts are THE SORROWS OF YOUNG WERTHER by Goethe and ETHAN FROME by Edith Wharton.
