    hi there! im not much of a reader but I lost my oartner 8 months ago to suicide. Just seeing if anyone has any recommendations for books that may be helpful in this journey? also enjoy creative books/workbooks so happy for a book to read and do i suppose. I had a Google but theres so many I thought id try find some recommendations. thank you.

    1. I’m really sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how heavy that must feel. A couple of books that people often find helpful in grief are It’s OK That You’re Not OK by Megan Devine and A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis, both approach loss in a very honest and non-judgmental way. If you’re open to something a bit more reflective, Hot Greek Summer by Shirley Goldberg touches on emotional healing and personal growth in a quieter way.

      I lost my wife 4 years ago and while it was not suicide it has been devastating and I have felt hollowed out in some way. I heard Julian Barnes on a radio interview who wrote ”Levels of Life” talking about how he thought about doing himself in after his wife died and some of how he got past that. He is a bit long winded and goes off on numerous tangents but there are some very useful things, ways of looking at it, and after reading it I thought it was a good experience to have read it. Hope that helps.
