On page 111, it says "The year she started primary school, Ada caught the school bus home every afternoon…" then goes on to describe her walking home alone down the road and her Mum meeting her outside the house. I'm so unnecessarily irked about this 😂 – in the UK you start primary school at like 5 years old. It's not that she changed primary schools, it's when she started going to primary school….she surely wasn't taking the bus home alone at 5 years old!!?! And it specifically describes her walking alone and carrying her artwork – so Kostas isn't with her. I'm only up to this part so no spoilers please but….what the fuck?! Enjoying the book but this seems like a really stupid oversight. Even a designated school bus wouldn't allow kids as young as 5 to travel alone.

Yes they do. My daughter had to walk alone 3 blocks to her daycares house.

that’s a valid point, man, sounds like a pretty weird oversight for a detail that should’ve been clearer. at that age, you definitely wouldn’t be riding the bus solo, so it kinda pulls you out of the story a bit.
