I’m trying to get into Didion because I love Eve Babitz and writing about LA, the 50s-60s, women’s fiction, etc but she doesn’t quite hit for me. I enjoyed Run River but it took me forever to read, I’ve read like a third of Slouching Towards Bethlehem and now I’m reading Play It As It Lays, which is the most compelling so far. Maybe I’m just not a Didion girl but I’d love to hear what you enjoy about her work and what your favorite books are.
