What I love about Cure is its slow-burning spiral into hypnotic madness, and I would like to see if anyone has read a novel/book that has the same dread and feeling that the book itself is out to harm you. Cure creates a haunting atmosphere, eliciting the idea that the audience is not only watching the characters fall into the hypnotic rhythm of the film, but the viewer themselves are too. Any stories where the main character is being deceived by some outside force or person, to the point they see or hear things that aren't there. Stories that also deal with hypnotism in a dark and occultist manner are also welcomed. The film is a murder mystery but recommendations don't have to be as well.
