I’m looking for books about real people that will prove to me that it is rational to be hopeful. logically, I know that statistically we are in a better place now than we ever have been in the past, but I don’t want statistics, I wants stories about real people who either overcame hardship or chose to be kind/do the right thing despite incentives to do otherwise. I want to regain my faith in the future of humanity.
if possible, preferably recent books because part of me still believes that things have gone to shit in the last 5 years and that books from the 2010s were falsely optimistic.
