I'll try and make a list of all the books that I've read that I liked. I have a hard time finding a book I may like since a lot of the ones I do become attracted to are usually centuries old lol
Invisible man – h.g. wells (is by far my favorite)
Frankenstein – Mary Shelly
The Island of Doctor Moreau – h.g. wells
The Haunting of Hill House – Shirley Jackson
Dracula – Bram Stoker (wasn't too bad, but it got repetitive with the constant blood transfusions for like 50 pages)
Time Machine – h.g. wells
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn – Mark Twain
The King in Yellow – Robert Chambers (to be fair, I kind of only liked maybe 2 or 3 of the stories in that book)
Interview with a vampire – Anne Rice (her writing is really beautiful. I read the 2nd book in the series, but I'm not interested in Lestat as he's a lot less emotional and introspective than Louis)
A Prisoner of Heaven – Carlos Zafron
Books I disliked or hated
No Longer Human
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Any YA dystopian book lol (really didn't like the classics like The Giver or Anthem, either)
The Outsiders
I think one thing I notice with a lot of the books that I like is that there is no goal in mind with them. It's never the character needs to do this so he can get what he finally wants! It's just something happening to them and then they deal with it. It's moreso about the journey, I guess, not the destination.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some recommendations. I like the classics, obviously, but I would like to try and read some other things that are a little lesser known possibly.
