I really enjoyed Bad Blood by John Carreyrou about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. I also enjoyed most of the books by Jon Krakauer, especially Under the Banner of Heaven. Another one I liked is Death at Seaworld by David Kirby. I love a good deep dive.
It doesn’t necessarily need to be about crimes but something compelling!
Give me your deep dive non-fiction suggestions that had you hooked!

Yeah, Bad Blood is one of those books I wish I could forget so I could read again. Non-fiction I also loved:
The Desert and the Sea by Michael Scott Moore. A journalist is kidnapped by Somali pirates. It’s really, really good. It does the interesting thing where he doesn’t try to explain away the pirates. They’re violent, and occasionally murderers. And also, he become something approaching friends with others.
American Kingpin by Nick Bolton. This is about Ross Ulbricht and the Silk Road. Ross is kind of this libertarian bro who largely creates the Silk Road. And he’s half kind of hapless dude way in over his head, and also (haplessly) tries to have people murdered. Great read.
Anything by Erik Larson. Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann is also excellent.
Empire of Pain: The Secret History of The Sackler Family by Patrick Radeon Keefe
