Looking for deeply immersive books that give a breath of fresh air or lift up the heart. Going through a rough life patch including grief, mental health struggles, and big decisions so needing a way to take mental breaks from it all. Open to a variety of genres, though romance is not my thing and topics of death/grief/mental illness would be triggering at the moment.

**Throwback** by Maurene Goo – cute coming of age story about mother-daughter relationships.
**Nimona** by N.D. Stevenson – wouldn’t say it’s uplifting exactly, but very fun and sweet, good bit of escapism.
If you’re up for some laughs, try listening to the audiobook for **The World Record Book of Racist Stories** by Amber Ruffin.
Can’t go wrong with **Born a Crime** by Trevor Noah either.
