My 12 year old son just finished a childrens version that's about 130 pages and really enjoyed it. So I've been trying to find the original unabridged version but in a more modern language.
He's not a native english speaker, and while he can read adult books in english I fear the original language will be too difficult for him. Key point here is of course that it should be an enjoyable experience that encourages him to read more.
Any suggestions? It does not necessarily need to be Howard Pyle, a modern reinterpretation or similar would also do just fine.
