I finished the book today and I’m not sure where I’m going with this post…just like I’m not sure Alex Michaelides was entirely sure where he was doing with their dynamic. I won’t spoil too much, but if you’ve read this book, you know what the twist was. Truthfully, I saw it coming. Yet, the dynamic between Theo and Alicia was apparent. Both were people dealt rough hands early in life, especially Alicia, and thought they found happiness in their romantic relationships. Only neither was fully aware of the toxic relationships and gaslighting they were trapped in. And both went about the truth of said relationships very differently. What do you think the author was trying to do with these characters?
