I can’t articulate exactly what I’m looking for, but something that isn’t regularly suggested, no King, no Red Rising, no McCarthy. Something off the beaten path, something interesting, lost to the usual discussion.
I dig the heck out of the Blackwater Saga, The Cipher, The Second Apocalypse, Southern Reach Trilogy, Book of the New Sun, Sineater.
