Currently exhausted and am having trouble finding books for guys that aren't incredibly high stakes, where life or death is on the line, the entire world is at stake, life shattering identity crisises make up the entirety of characters.
I want a book where things kinda just happen and it doesn't kill anyone or radically change people and half the book isn't background, ideally around a friend group of guys. I think East of Eden fits the bill, but I'm not necessarily looking for a rec based on that book. The Discworld novels have fit it to an extent too. Thank you.
