This may be a stretch because I’m looking for something possibly very specific, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway. With artemis II circling the moon, hail mary in theaters, and all these beautiful, hopeful scientific endeavors—whether fiction or nonfiction—happening, I am just longing for a story with those same themes. I feel like this song really gives me the deepest sense of hope, love, grief, and more than anything, community. I’m really thinking of it in the interpretation I think a lot of people have, which is that it touches on the theme of humans just wanting to be found. Wanting to leave proof of our existence in the universe. Leaving a path (like the pulsar map) out there so that something can find us. In such a terrible time in this world, I feel like I just need to hold onto that feeling, and literature is my favorite way to be consumed by a certain feeling.
I’m looking for science fiction or even nonfiction. Honestly anything really. I just want that feeling of togetherness and wonder in the universe, if that makes sense!
