My news years resolution was to not read a single book this year.
I’m 24M and I hate reading. My whole life I’ve felt this pressure to be well read but have never truly enjoyed a book- with the accepting of some self-help books.
I truely believe there isn’t a book that wouldn’t be better as a movie, show, or game. Books to me are sort of like a proof of concept; if it’s good enough they’ll put it in a better medium eventually.
Someone please recommend me something that will make me ashamed I made this post in the first place.
I’ve always wanted to get into fiction and fantasy but I just can’t (I did read all the Harry Potter books but I’m a fan of the films). I just find young adult writing to be really cringe inducing – a fantasy book recommendation where the title doesn’t sound like ‘A Bowl of Mac and Cheese’ would be awesome.
I have a natural interest in non-fiction, I think the book I’ve enjoyed the most is Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
So book people – please open my eyes to the light. If I get a good recommendation I’ll be sure to update.
