Hi friends! so just expanding on the title of this post, I’m looking for a book I can really sink my teeth into and I mean A NOVEL 🤌🏼. I want one specifically that has the forbidden love/romance retelling in modern day time like “Burning Daylight” by Emily McEntire or “Phantom” by Greer Rivers {which by the way, Phantom is the ultimate retelling in modern day romance imo} but the level of emotional depth in “Love letters to whiskey”
I absolutely ADORE the dual narration on Audible of LLTW, but cannot stand the low grade emotional cheating and third act break up 🙄 I want to lose my emotions in what I’m reading, forget what time it is, and spend hours on end in another world. While Burning Daylight has the romance retelling I’ve been looking for, I am sick of the unnecessary detailed spice just for the sake of adding a character count. I’m craving a romance book that can tell an actual story and not just focus solely on the sex (I’m not opposed to it unless it adds depth to the story)
Bonus points if it’s one that can be read on paperback or Audible, the added imagery when listening to a book really brings it to life 🤩
