When I was a child I LOVED reading, but on my own terms! When I was in secondary school and had to read during reading lessons, it took the joy out of my books (having to stop at the end of an hour and not the end of a chapter really frustrated me!) and so from my teens I started to read much less.

I’m 22 now, and have about 3 months of nothing before I start my uni placement, and I think it’s the perfect time to get back into reading. I have the hobbit which my boyfriend bought me last year, that I never finished, but am planning to start it again tomorrow. I also have lots of classic books at home (my dad usually buys his books) so they should be easy to get a hold of!

To get an idea of what I might enjoy I’ll list some of my old favourites (please don’t judge! I also am now aware of some of these authors being problematic but I’m just trying to create a rough picture)

    – as a child I loved all the Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton and Jaqueline Wilson books

    – as a teenager I enjoys harry potter, twilight, me before you, one of us is lying

    – recently I read Coraline, it’s short and the film has always been my favourite film.

I’m interested in politics and religion and I do still like “childish” things if that helps give a better picture of me too.

    TIA for any suggestions!
