I have been a reader all my life, and I have noticed that with some contemporary authors I simply can't connect, the last few books I read were not exactly disappointing but not memorable either. I like to discover new authors, but as said, those I read lately don't really stick. The best I can say..they were alright. I am not entirely sure if it is the writing stile that feels remote or the plots they develop feel familiar…but it has been a while since I had a "WAO" after reading a book.
Anyone having similar experiences?
