I just lost my dad a few days ago, and just finished reading Whalefall. I'm looking for similar books— something with an overarching story that works through the grief and the guilt and everything else through the story— I do not want books squarely focused on grieving and loss, no self-help style books or anything of that sort.
I do prefer suspense/thriller/horror/fantasy/magical realism, but I'm open to suggestions that fit my ask outside of those genres.
I have previously read a lot of Stephen King books, if that points anyone in the direction of what I prefer. I also really enjoyed They Both Die at the End.
Thank you.
