I haven’t been able to read any book properly, trouble getting the flow and always read 1st few pages and leave, any sci-fi/ fantasy adventure book suggestions to hook you in the first few pages?

I have tried reading count of Monte cristo, read 17 pgs and left, tried mort by Terry pratchett and again left it at 5 pgs. I am short on money so I read online which I guess aggravate the situation more. Last time I truly enjoyed reading was 7th grade when I used to read goosebumps, hardy boys, and some other rl stine books. I immediately expect something to get the flow going but it's difficult when you read less than 10 pgs to get an idea about the world and the nature of it. I need something along the lines of sci-fi/adventure genre or if there are any books outside of this genre like slice of life, mystery but hooks you in the first few pages or so, then I am all in for it. My dopamine receptors are fried to oblivion.
