I'm mostly into classics, but now I'm looking for some emotionally gripping romances! I know HEA are typical for romance, but it's not a requirement for me. I like hate/love type relationships with little to no fluff, and good prose.
Some novels I liked that have strong romance elements are Giovanni's room, Madonna in a fur coat, Interview with the vampire and Heart the lover.
I read The love hypothesis and Heated rivalry, but the very contemporary style just doesn't do it for me. For classics, I dnf'd Pride and prejudice and Maurice because they bored me.
I don't care if it's F/F, M/M or M/F, or any specific tropes.
