I recently recommended NK Jemisin’s The Fifth Season to my friend, because she’s poly and it has a poly relationship. She told me that reading about that kind of “plentiful love” (her words) felt like finally drinking water after having been very thirsty. She found the book otherwise compelling but a bit dark for her taste, I think, and won’t be reading the rest of the series.
I’ve also recommended she read Girl, Woman, Other. The only other book I *know* she liked was This is How You Lose the Time War. I read a lot but unfortunately almost all of it is very very dark fiction, so don’t have good recs off the top of my head.
I’d like to find more books for her that
1) have poly relationships OR
2) have depictions of plentiful love in general (that aren’t just cishet; think found family or non-monogamy in general)
