I’m sick, stuck in bed, and bored.
I’m looking for something fast-paced, compelling, exciting, with a queer protagonist.
I’m open to any genre but I think right now I’m picturing something like a “contemporary” thriller type. but please give me recs of any genre because I will just read them next. I like to have options.
It does not need to be YA—YA is great but I do love me a good book about a 25+ “adult” character.
I prefer protagonists who are women or nonbinary.
I also really like humorous books. I’d always rather read something with a witty satirical tone than a somber depressed one.
My favorite publisher is Tor, which means I generally like it if it’s Tor published but also there’s a 50% chance I’ve already read it.
Things I liked about The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe:
-Queer/wlw characters
-Women lead
-Includes main characters with disabilities (in this book it’s the main secondary character who has physical disability)
This is a fun description of the book that had me saying “OKAY i’m about to read this as soon as I get my hands on it”
"If you're looking for a queer YA contemporary book with complex characters, loads of action to keep you reading WAY past your bedtime — and a story so well written I might have shed a tear over it— you need to read The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe. It will keep you captivated until the last page." — Culturess
