I’m looking for a Regency or Medieval-style fantasy with a very specific vibe. I recently started reading Emily Wilde, and while I absolutely adore Wendell Bambleby (he’s the perfect dramatic, vain, howl-esque love interest), I find Emily a bit too "boring" and dry for my taste. I want a FMC who is just as chaotic, fashionable, or dramatic as the MMC. Think "Howl x Fem Howl" energy. She needs to have personality, whether she’s a refined diva, a grumpy sorceress, or a lady pirate.
I love prose that feels "old" or "archaic" (reminiscent of Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell or actual medieval chronicles), but with a ton of wit and sharp banter. High-society manners meets magical chaos.
