Just as the title says. I'm turning 17 this summer and I've been feeling really nostalgic lately about growing up and how fast everything is changing.

I’m looking for a coming-of-age book (or movie) that really captures what it feels like to be a teenager. Not just the plot, but the emotions. That kind of intense, almost cinematic feeling where everything feels bigger than it actually is. Think high school summer, staying out late, laughing with friends, fear of growing up, friendships, figuring out your identity, etc.

I don't mind romance, although I'm more drawn to friendship-oriented plots, or relationships that don't really fit into any labels. I'm also open to any queer recs.

I love stories with realistic, lovable characters that feel like real people, where it feels like they just step out of the page. I’m especially drawn to that 80s–90s nostalgic vibe, but I’m open to modern stories too (considering that is more like my actual life).

Basically, I want something that feels like being a teenager in a way only teenagers would understand. Or books that resonated with you as a teen because of it. I know this is kinda vague and conceptual, but I'm sure the vibe comes across lol.

    Any recommendations?
