Do you have any recommendations for books that have a similar vibe to the ghibli movie ?
I especially liked the beautiful yet tragic love story but I’m not really looking for a romance book, I liked the fact that it wasn’t the main story (the engineer storyline was mostly the main story). I liked that it’s a story about someone’s life with a historical background but also a tragic love story happening.
So it could be a biography or fiction or historical fiction or anything that tells about the life of someone with a historical background and a tragic yet beautiful love story (bonus point if they die from illness). I really like to be able to see how life was at this point of history and in the culture it takes place. If it helps I also love “In this corner of the world” and “When Marnie was there”.
