This is such a dumb post to be making hahaha but I’m hoping someone gets what I mean. I grew up reading gay (men) fanfictions that truly read like novels, and I’m sure anyone who also has done that knows what I mean when I say there’s something very specific about them that is hard to find anywhere else. I’ve specifically been really deep in the byler rabbit hole lately and have been reading a lot with the tones of friendship vs lovers and mutual pining and the dynamics that come from having a relationship similar to being brothers in a way while also having this deep yearning for one another. Does anyone get what I mean.
The only books I’ve read that have given me the same oh my god I cannot put this down or stop thinking about it feeling in relation to the romance or subtext are carry on by rainbow rowell and if we were villains by ml rio. I don’t want any books that are like in your face gay love stories like heated rivalry or anything it’s a more specific niche. Im also open to books that have deep homoerotic subtext as well but it has to be in that way
