I've been reading a lot of heavy stuff lately, and a lot of dense material. I'm looking for the polar opposite of that — a genre I am christening "Hell Yeah, Brother." I'm looking for genre fiction that doesn't really aspire to be deep or literary, but that is fun, fast-paced, and creative, ideally with some fun action and weird cool world.
Some examples of this:
- The Peter Clines series Ex-Heroes, about superheroes in a zombie apocalypse.
- The Fred Saberhagen series Book of Swords, about a power struggle for a series of wild magical swords in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world.
- The Peter Clines book God's Junk Drawer, about a group of graduate students and their professor getting stranded in a bizarre lost world full of dinosaurs, strange obelisks, aliens, and people from throughout history.
The more obscure the better! Trying to build a back log of these to come back to in the future, as well.
