I'm a high school librarian in a county that has a policy against explicit content in our library books. The teens who read are very much looking for books that are marketed toward adults, though. I need some suggestions of some newer books (last 5 years or so… not married to that number of years) that are "for adults" that would be great reads for teens. Language and violence are (surprise) not a factor. Closed door scenes fine. Just no explicit content, though I can make a case for the suitability of a title if it has a very brief moment.
They really like horror, mystery, and suspense. Romance is big, too, but that's a section where the kids actually enjoy the YA books. Regular fiction, historical fiction both good, but fantasy is NOT a big seller right now with the kids. Any suggestions you have would be wonderful! Thank you!
