As the title implies. I've just started to work in the heritage sector here. And, while my general knowledge of British history isn't bad, when it comes to all the specifics of churches and religions in this country, I'd say I know the basics-ish, but that's about it.
The place where I'm now working revolves around a noble family that, inevitably, has some history to do with reformation, the civil war in the 17th century, medieval ties, all sorts really.
So I'm asking for any book, or general reading, recommendations that center on specifically Britain's religious history. Anything centered a bit more around the reformation and all that came before and after is what i really need to study up on.
I'd prefer something that isn't too intellectual either? If that makes sense. I think the best way I'll actually take this stuff in is if it's a nice easy read and is interesting. Perhaps has a bit of humor to it, or some interesting personal tone or flavor by the author?
Let me know if any further details from myself would prove useful, but I'll be thankful for any sort of recommendation 🫡🙂
