Last night I had 2 unusually vivid dreams, and now I want to read books similar to them if anyone has any ideas:
Dream 1 (scary dream): I was searching a house for a family that had gone missing (no idea why I would be doing such a thing). It seemed like no one had been there for at least a few weeks but everything was sitting out as if the people had just vanished, very musty, power off, food left out etc. I found a large walk-in closet that had been jammed shut and for some reason opened it (dream-me, not the brightest). A little boy who was part of the missing family walked out but he was *wrong*, he didn't look quite human and was moving in a weird unnatural way… then I saw a 2nd super creepy shadow-ghost-child lurking in the darkness behind him. It was so scary I woke up.
Dream 2 ("romance"): This one had very old school/historical/western romance vibes – and was more like watching a movie (I wasn't actually in this one). A woman was working in a small prison with only a few prisoners. One of them was a bookish-nerdy man (very handsome, of course). It somehow came out that she couldn't read and they started a unlikely friendship based on him teaching her. I imagine this turning into a romance, but very slow burn.
Does anyone have any suggestions like either of those? Thanks!
