I love dark fantasy and I love revenge stories but most of the fantasy that have these elements follow an older (usually broody) man seeking revenge against a higher power/person.
I want a high stakes, brutal world that follows a woman protagonist actively trying to take revenge (bonus if her personal vendetta is against a singular antagonist man 👀)
I read Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao and while I thought it was good, I found the FMC lacking in character development.
I tried the Nevernight series by Jay Kristoff but I just couldn't get into that one😅.
