Any books that draw insights into unique directions that societies take that tie in religion, government and other large institutions? (>2020)

Looking to learn something new about the world we live in. Paradigm shifts caused by breakthrough in technology, financial systems, etc etc.

I'd love the book to be more recent (after 2020 atleast).
