Hey y’all! I’m going into senior year of my english lit degree this fall (woo!), and I’m looking for some books to read over my summer break. I’ve been reading so much for school I haven’t had a lot of time to read for myself lately — that said, I’m absolutely not opposed to reading classics/standard “required reading” over summer either. I’m currently reading Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice (for me) and The Last Man by Mary Shelley (for school). My favorite books as of late are The Secret History, The Great Gatsby, Good Omens, Mrs. Dalloway, Flowers In The Attic and probably Frankenstein. For classes this quarter, I’ve read Mansfield Park, Don Juan, The Woman of Color, and a decent chunk of the Bible lol.
I’m open to any and all suggestions but I definitely like books that are on the darker, mysterious and moody side, bonus points for religious themes and undertones. Thanks!
