This is my first post so please bear with me, but I’ve gotten great suggestions from posts here!
My favorite books in the whole world are:
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Wild Swans by Jung Chang
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
They all have a somewhat similar element to them, narrated by multiple generations of women experiencing life around them (with specific historical events as the background).
Does anyone know of anything similar, but based in Latin America (ideally Mexico!)? Something by Isabel Allende maybe (I read one of her books years ago but don’t remember almost a thing about it, open to giving her another go)?
Bonus points for a nonfiction historical context book to go along with it (i.e King Leopold’s Ghost to read alongside The Poisonwood Bible).
Or open to any reads that are similar!
— P.S. if anyone likes any one of those books, I highly recommend the others!!
