Has anyone here read Kate Morton? She’s an Australian author, and I was obsessed with her books in high school. My favorites were The Forgotten Garden and The House at Riverton. I remember staying up way too late reading them because her stories always felt so full and layered.
I especially like the way she often starts with some kind of ending, secret, or aftermath, then slowly goes backward through memory and family history. Her female characters and old houses/family mysteries always really worked for me.
I’ve read most of her popular books already, so I’m looking for something with a similar feeling. Rich, intriguing, a little mysterious, with that past-and-present structure.
Any recommendations?
