I graduated high school 2 years ago and am now in the awkward position of lacking so much knowledge about basic things that it’s getting embarrassing. It’s not that I think I’m dumb because I know I am fully capable of being intelligent (wasted potential and all that jazz), it’s that I couldn’t for the life of me shut my mouth and focus in class.
I’m particularly interested in learning more about social issues, history, and maybe science, because these are the areas where I lack the most knowledge. However, I am open to any book that you think will make me smarter! The book recommendations need to be pretty accessible and engaging to read so that I will be able to power through them.
In the past I have loved almost any book regarding the Holocaust, such as Night by Elie Wiesel if that tells you anything at all. I am also specifically interested in learning more about gender inequality so I put Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis and The New Age of Sexism by Laura Bates on hold at my library.
Any recommendations would be super awesome. Thank you in advance!
