I’m searching for a book about the Neo Noir film genre. I would like it to be about the genre itself, its history stemming from the noir genre, and ideally spans up into contemporary cinema.
I’m not particularly interested in the philosophical approach. More interested in the filmmaking side and how the genre evolves through different influential time periods.
I would prefer it to not be a coffee table book. A textbook would be fine though. Trying to find something at my local library or something fairly accessible. Does not have to be super reader friendly and can have more academic writing.
If anyone can connect me with some good recommendations that would be greatly appreciated.
