I saw a Reddit post (linked in comments), and the discussion in the comments got me wondering what modern hospitals for the criminally insane are like. Im not really looking for drama or cases of historical malpractice—more just a look inside at what they’re like today. I’m sure there are lots of books, reports, and articles on the subject—but what are your favourites?
Ideally, I would like to read from the perspective of someone who has worked in one rather than some kind of investigative journalism-type book.
The only book I can think of that I liked and has “the vibes” I’m looking for is “The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog”—interesting (yet disturbing, in this case) well-written stories from the perspective of a professional.
