I’m a rather young person, going to be 20 soon, and I’ve decided to pick up the Witcher books.
My biggest issue when it comes to reading is visualizing the characters.
Some of the descriptions come very easily to my mind after playing through the Witcher games, same with voices.
But some others…I really can’t grip on. I find myself googling the appearance of said character after a bit of reading, which helps me a lot. It also doesn’t help that the vocabulary used to describe said characters are very…’Esoteric’
My question is…Is it normal to have this issue when you’re a new reader? Is it normal to look up the characters? Will my visualization of said characters and understanding of vocabulary improve with time?
Nonetheless, I’m enjoying every bit of the books.
P.S: I’d also love to get into other books whenever I’m done with these and I’m afraid that I won’t have the prior knowledge (by playing the games) that I have at the moment.
