I’m looking for a book series where partway through it expands the scope of the story and changes the overall feel with new characters, places, cultures, etc. Some examples of this in books, TV, and movies:
1. A Feast for Crows (ASOIAF)
2. The Wire season 2,
3. Best Served Cold (First Law)
4. Rogue One (Star Wars)
5. Wizard & Glass (Dark Tower)
6. The Silver Chair (Narnia)
Basically book series where one entry tells a story we weren’t originally anticipating but that ultimately enhances the overall narrative. What else might I enjoy?
(Also no Wheel of Time or Malazan suggestions, please. I already am working on those)
