I would love some stories about people who were completely broken and who gave up on life then bounced back stronger.
Preferably they bounced back on their own, no friends or family, no new love interest to save them, etc.
I think of the Count of Monte Cristo and Shantaram as fitting the theme. I just don’t think they are too relatable since the odds of me discovering generational wealth or entering the underworld of Bombay are very low.
