I don’t trust most people to know my reading taste. I have a couple friends who are avid readers like me that I might trust to choose a book for me. But my parents, in-laws, my husband- no. I would never just ask them for “books” for Christmas. If there is a specific book I am wanting I will ask for that. Of course it is more fun to get a surprise book but I’m so picky about what physical books I own because my shelves are almost full.
