Hi! I have two men in my life who I want to recruit into the I Love Reading club. I am a new member and want to share my new found love for books.
These two men have different personalities, which I will explain below, but they’re both non-readers. They both probably haven’t read a full book in their adult life. They both also have shorter attention spans and an addiction to swiping through Instagram reels or playing video games. So, I would need a book that instantly grabs the reader and is a page-turner. And has to be a bit easy to read. Lol.
**Guy 1** (my brother): 28M. Army guy. He likes history. So I would think something historical nonfiction, maybe with war… But maybe also a bit sexy and appealing. Lol. Also probably YA or YA-adjacent. More recently written would be great.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s never read a full book cover to cover. He enjoyed Catcher in the Rye and Tuesdays with Morrie in high school, but I wouldn’t doubt if he didn’t read them.
So, although I think he will be easy to convince to read, he will have a tough time completing the book.
**Guy 2** (guy I’m seeing lol): 25M. He’s gonna be tougher to recruit into the Club. But he told me, as a kid, he read 3 or 4 of the Harry Potter Books and Stephen King’s It.
I would think something fantasy or sci-fi for him too. He’s more boyish.
I think his attention span is the worse of the two. But he needs something more well-written and -researched. The first one’s more “gullible.”
Oh, and something maybe with a deeper meaning. He likes Studio Ghibli movies, The Lion King, Brother Bear, and all that jazz.
Will take any recommendations! TYIA!
