I think Jon Krakauer and I are on the same page entirely. I love that HIS fanatical interest is other fanatics. Everest climbers in *Into Thin Air*, religious zealots in *Under the Banner of Heaven*, the obsessive pursuit of freedom and purity by the kid in *Into the Wild.* I am interested in explorers (*The Endurance*), mathematicians (*A Brilliant Mind),* rock climbers (media like “Free Solo”)…..but anyone obsessive and perfectionistic in a singularly minded way….ballerinas, politicians, musicians, monastics, you name it.
